                This EEO Public File Report is filed in WXBX’s, WYVE’s, and WLOY’s public inspection files pursuant to section 73.2080( c ) ( 6 ) of the Federal Communications Commission’s (“FCC”) rules.


                During the period between February 11, 2013, and May 31, 2013, the employment unit filled no full-time vacancies.

                During the period between February 11, 2012, and may 31, 2013, the employment unit engaged in the following outreach activities:

1.       On March 13, 2013, the employment unit participated in a Career Fair hosted by Wytheville Community College at the Wytheville Meeting Center. In addition to attending the Career Fair, the employment unit publicized the Career Fair by airing announcement on the stations relating to the Career Fair.

2.       On April 18, 2013, the employment unit participated in a Career fair hosted by the Wytheville Community College at the Crossroads Institute in Galax, Virginia. In addition to attending the Career Fair, the employment unit publicized the Career Fair by airing announcements on the stations relating to the Career Fair.

3.       On February 14, 2013, managers at the employment unit participated in a telephonic training session with legal counsel regarding the FCC’s EEO rule and nondiscrimination requirements.

4.       On April 4, 2013, manager Garry Brown attended a Chamber of Commerce presentation entitled “Top of Mind Awareness: Why Your Business Needs It.” The Chamber event was held at the VHDA Building on 105 E Main Street, Wytheville, VA. “Top of Mind Awareness” was a presentation to inform chamber members of the power of branding, as well as how to brand their business. Also, to make local business owners aware of how strong radio can be as a recruitment source.

5.       On February 20, 2013, Operations Manager, Danny Gordon, spoke at the Invitation of Rotarian Reed Counts. He spoke for half an hour (12:30 p.m. – 1 p.m.) discussing the downtown initiative, the part of the radio stations will play in the rebirth of the downtown area, with musings of years gone past during eh history of service from WYVE-AM, which went on the air at noon on September 21st, 1949. The presentation featured several questions from Rotarians in attendance at the lunch meeting.
